Building a Marketing Organization

The challenge:

A leader in kitchen tools faced a critical gap: no senior marketing leader to guide the shift from retailer-led to consumer-led growth. Without the right leadership, the brand risked falling behind competitors and missing opportunities to connect with its end consumer.

What we did:

As fractional CMO, we partnered with the executive team to shape a clear growth strategy, defining where the brand could play, win, and focus investment. Having led teams through similar shifts, we’ve seen firsthand how starting with the consumer creates products that people actually want and keeps a brand relevant. With that lens, we built consumer insight into product development and commercialization so decisions were always grounded in real needs and behaviors.

Just as important as the strategy itself was the presence of leadership. We weren’t only there to share expertise, we were embedded with the team to provide mentorship and support. We designed a Marketing Skills Assessment Program to spot gaps and build confidence, pairing targeted training with hands-on experience. The result was a team better equipped, more confident, and supported by leadership to deliver on the strategy and keep growing long after our work was done.
