Building a Consumer Insights Capability

The challenge:

A premium small appliance manufacturer with global distribution had hit a plateau. To unlock new areas of innovation and growth, the business needed to become more consumer-driven.

What we did:

We helped the company build its first consumer insights capability establishing the best-in-class guideline and tools to bring the voice of the consumer into everyday decision-making. Our goal wasn’t just to create a function, but to help the team understand how to use insights to guide decisions and uncover unmet consumer needs.

We looked across both the B2B and B2C sides of the business to size real opportunities and identify where the brand could play and win commercially. From there, we built learning plans to establish a strong foundation of consumer understanding—clarifying how the brand connected with its audience and where new opportunities could emerge.

The team was trained in concept writing and in turning insights into action, learning how to translate findings into tangible ideas that drive growth. The outcome was a clear innovation roadmap, a sharper view of opportunity size across channels, and a team confident in using insights to guide decisions and fuel future growth.
